WOW

It's been a while! But the summer is here finally and I've got plans. Here's what I'm working now:

SO! The inside is actually a SKETCHBOOK! This project is a little hard to see from the pictures but basically I removed all the inside content of a GQ and replaced it with sketch paper. You can see the black, dutch binding technique with which I used to reinstall pages. My plan is to fill the book with sketches of vampire-esque//inspired//inspiring examples from fashion.
In true Vamp style, Robert Pattinson is on the front and the back. There was an interview with him on the inside so I cut the magazine in half which allowing me to use one of the interview pictures for the back cover YAY! I'm going to make a gazillion of these themed sketchbooks this summer.

More notes: The first sketch I've done is of Karen Walker's eyewear collection. Here are some screen caps of her (very frustratingly flash) website. Ignore the chat box! Ignore it!

And more vampy stuff from McQueen, D&G, and Givenchy:

Paint Post

The best thing I learned in school this year was.. how to PAINT!
The first two are paintings I did when I got home for summer break. The rest are from Drawathon and class.

'Little Red Riding Hood'

"A Cold Person" (for Val, unknown to him).

Moleskine

Last week I rediscovered the joy of using my tiny Moleskine sketchbook. It's good for drawing on the run.
Here are a few pictures I drew over the course of two or three days:

The picture above was actually drawn first, but I wanted to save the best for last. The woman on the left looks like the mother of a friend of mine. She has a reputation of being a devout (bordering on the fanatical) Roman Catholic which is why I made her into a holy saint. Your mom's a saint.

Two

This is a "character sheet" for Jamie, the star of what I can now call my Dystopian Society comic. Jamie's job would be running messages between Manhattan and Hell if there actually was a difference between the two. The two faces in the upper left hand corner have nothing to do with the rest of the page.

More dystopia. My Survey of Art History class is so boring that I now take lecture time as an opportunity to draw for two hours.
